This festival is in celebration of Hemp History Week (May 17-23), a national grassroots education campaign designed to renew strong support for hemp farming in the U.S. There will be four symposia throughout the day on various topics, including California's hemp heritage prior to its prohibition, hemp production and marketing, and the benefits of growing hemp in California again. In addition to the symposia, there will be a day-long farmers market outside with booths selling hemp products, displaying informational material and collecting petitions and postcards, vendors selling local healthy food, and live music to provide a festive atmosphere.
