For the past 28 years, hemp in Indian Country has faced severe pushback from the federal government. The most infamous hempster in Indian Country, Alex White Plume, pushed the boundary of farming on reservations with growing hemp. His story has inspired thousands of people, most notably John Trudell and Winona LaDuke. Come see Alex tells his story through the documentary Standing Silent Nation.
We'll have a discussion afterwards and an technology transfer station for new WI hemp farmers to take home with them historical record on growing hemp in Wisconsin. Bring a flash-drive if you're want a digital copy of the historical record.
