The State Once Again Solidifies Leadership in the Hemp Economy
Denver, CO. -- June 10, 2020 -- Governor Jared Polis, in partnership with the Colorado Hemp Industries Association (COHIA®) and the national Hemp Industries Association® (HIA®), puts forth a proclamation today recognizing June 6th through the 12th as the official Hemp Week for the state of Colorado.
“We are extremely proud to have a Governor and state legislature in Colorado that understands the importance of supporting our industry.’ Said COHIA president Bethleen McCall “We at COHIA are dedicated to educating the public to the value of this amazing crop and are excited to continue to work with Colorado to position the hemp industry as an emerging leader in agriculture.”
Hemp Week (formerly known as Hemp History Week) is a national annual educational and advocacy campaign in its eleventh year focused on spreading understanding and awareness of the many uses of industrial hemp. Launched by the HIA® in 2009 the campaign has worked with thousands of retailers, farmers, processors, and enthusiasts to educate the nation about the utilization of hemp in everyday products.
“Hemp Week is an important tool in the HIA toolbox to continue to build the hemp economy into a powerhouse,” said HIA President and COHIA board member Rick Trojan “This acknowledgment from the state of Colorado is another example of their leadership and support in the growing hemp economy.”
